About:China Customs Declaration

I wish to bring a ring to China for a gift for someone special. The jeweled ring is valued at USD929. After I declare it, how much tax will I have to pay? Also, does it not matter whether I wear it or whether I bring it, but either way I will still have to pay the tax?

I think you may just take the ring to China by wearing it, then you don;t have to pay any tax.
