We want to visit Labrang Monastery in May 4th. Is the Monastery open for the public at that time ?  Can you tell me how to get from Lanzhou to Labrang Monastery and how longit take and when is the last bus heading back to Lanzhou ?Thank you

Yes, it is pen then. You have to take a bus to Xiahe from Lanzhou first, and then walk to Labrang Monastery for 15-20 minutes. It takes about 5 hours. I think you have to heading back to Lanzhou the next day, sinc ethe last bus to lanzhou starts at 14:30.
