About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Hi Just want to ask Question for a trip to China.
My Boyfriend Invited me for a trip to China This coming March 19... He is askin me what I need to do to be with him? And I dont know what to tell him.. He is American.. Do I need for a visa application? And how long it will take if need to apply?

If your boyfriend will sponsor the trip, provide his bank certificate, sponsorship and invitation letter, copy of his valid Chinese residence visa and his passport information page.
