About:China Train

I am planning to travel from Shanghai to Hangzhou via rail. Just like to check if it is necessary to purchase a train ticket for a child below 5 years old? In addition, i would also like to enquire if the train ticket prices listed are for return or single trip?

It depends on the height of your child. If he/she is below 1.1 meters tall, you can carry him/her on the train for free. And he/she could enjoy half-price tickets if the height is between 1.1meters and 1.5meters. Besides, usually the train ticket price is listed for single trip. It cost around CNY82 for one hard seat on the G train from Shanghai to Hangzhou.
