Mrs.Shelley, you should first make the business document to be
1. Signed before a notary public.
2. Certified by the clerk of Court of the County in which the document is commissioned if applicable. It may be omitted if the authority in item 3 will certify directly to the notary.
3. Certified by the Secretary of the State in which the document is executed
4. Certified by the relevant Consulate - General. You must apply to the correct Consulate - General which holds consular jurisdiction over the area where the document is executed.

The Documents to be included with applications:
1. One Authentication Application Form
2. The documents to be authenticated, and a photocopy of the documents .
3. a photocopy of the company's legal person's passport or driver license is required.

You may come to the relevant Embassy or Consulate -Generals for application, or entrust a representative (no power of attorney is needed) to apply for you. No appointment is required.

You need to bring two application forms - G1 for each notarized documents. There is not special order for the documents to be in. You can arrange them as I listed above. You'd better bring the Cert of Incorporation and Division of Corporation Entity Info.

HI, Thank you once again. So when i go to the consulate i will bring the original letter of Good Standing with the apostile stapled to it along with a copy. Will they put the China Auth stamp on both the original and copy? I have to keep the original for our NY office and send the copy to our office in China. So does that count as 2 authentications or they automatically put the stamp on both the original and the copy? Also- i will bring the 2 other docs that you suggested. Do i need a letter from a Bank or is that just for the China Office for their purposes? Do you have a phone # so i can speak to you? My contact (516) 699-1000. Thanks for your help.

It is not count as 2 authentications for the original and copy of a business document, you are required to submit the following materials to the Consulate General:
1) Original document to be authenticated;
2) One photocopy of the complete document to be authenticated. Photocopy includes the page authenticated by the Secretary of State, the page notarized by a Notary Public and the original document.
3) One regibly and completely filled out Application Form for Authentication or Notarization(G-1).
4) In cases of commercial authentication, a copy of the company's license and good standing certificate of the company are also required.

Thank you for your advise, things went pretty smoothly. I will advise you that Monday would not be a good day to go,,i would go closer to the middle of the week. It took 2 hours to get into the Consulate and then another 2 hours to get to a window. The crowds were unbelievable. However, thank you for the instructions, I really appreciate them. Have a nice day!

It's true that there is long queue on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and the first two days after a public holiday. Anyhow, it's glad that things go pretty smoothly.
