About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

I am a canadian citizen travelling to Vietnam via Shanghai - I have a 36 hr stopover in Shanghai - do I need a Chinese visa and if not, may I leave the airport. I have a visa for Vietnam Thank you

Visas are not required for Canadian citizens who transit Shanghai Pudong Airport, provided they hold valid passports, visas for the onward countries, final destination tickets and have booked seats, and stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours.
