i am planning to visit china in first of week of may 2011.  I will be accompanied with a 2year son..  What would be the temperature that time..

Which cities will you visit? Generally, in north China, it is the mild early summer with little rainfall. Take Beijing for example, the days will be plenty of sunshine and the temperature could be 20C. However, you should be aware of the windy night and temperature difference. In south China, take Shanghai for example, it will be the rainy season but not cold at all. You will feel too humid.
