About:China Visa

I am supposed to go to teach English in jiangsu province in China and get an F visa. Do I have to apply here in Toronto for the visa before I go? PLEASE HELP

That is to say, you will work in China as a English teacher? if yes, how long will you stay in China? if it is longer than 6 months, you are required to apply for a Z visa in advance through Chinese embassy/consulate over the area of your residence.
