I think since it has four functions now - flood control, power generation, navigation and tourism.

it brings in tourism and those tourists will buy things from places near to and then they will earn money. Not quite sure why they'd visit because personally I'd prefer to see the beautiful landscape of the Yangtze river before this huge dam was put there. :D hoped this helped.

I think its helpful cause more people will get power. But I also think its a shame tht the beautiful view is taken away 4 a dam. But may b there will b other beautiful views in the future, so people wont hate this dam soo much. Also, its the WORLD'S LARGEST HYDROELECTRIC DAM!!!!! how cool is tht??

It stops the flooding going into the land, also it brings a lot of tourism which could bring in a lot of income which leads to the multiplier effect!
