About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Dear Embassy Staff,

I am an Australian citizen currently living and working in Tokyo. I will be visiting Shanghai soon, and am in the process of applying for a tourist visa.

I have two questions:

1. Is it necessary to bring the tickets for the return flight to the embassy, or is an itinerary from the travel agent okay? The tickets are booked but not yet paid for.

2. With regard to supplying details of a hotel reservation, I will not be staying in a hotel, but with Australian relatives who currently live in Shanghai. What should I provide to the embassy in the way of information?

Thank you in advance for your help, I can't wait to visit!

You can apply for a visa to China in Tokyo from Chinese embassy. The two-way air ticket is required for visa application, if you have relatives in China, you need to provide invitation letter from them, together with copies of inviter's residence permit or work visa and passport information page.
