About:Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

hello,
i read that it is not possible to get a vis for china in vietnam, if i am not resident.
we are from germnany, travelling through asia. now we go to laos and in a few month we would like to go to china. does it make sence to get the visa in laos now?
we arrive in china in about 4 or 5 month, because before we plan to go to kambodia laos and vietnam.

You can try to apply in Ho Chi Min City when travel in Vietnam. Or in Laos. if they still don't accept your application, you can apply in HK, and it is easy there.

thank you for your answer. but i heard only residents can get a vis in ho chi min. i am confused. are you sure i can get it there?

Mrs.Gesche, no one here can assure you with that. Like what Ms.miles said, you can try there, and if necessary, you can apply for a China visa in HK.

Mrs.gesche, China consulate in Ho Chi Minh can issue China visa to non-resident applicants, one of my Canadian friend got L visa in Ho Chi Minh, he said that China embassy in Hanoi doesn't issue China visa to visitors, it asks non-Vietnamese applicants to provide Vietnamese residence permit or work permit.
