We are a family of five (age 12, 9, 7) traveling by train from Beijing to Xian and then Guilin To Shenzhen in July. Are we best to book 4 berth soft sleepers and 1 hard seat or all soft sleepers?

What is the height of your littlest child? If the height is below 1.1meters, you can carry him/her on the train for free. In that case, one cabin of four soft sleepers is enough. Anyway, it is better to book the same berth/seat type for your family.
