What is the easiest way to get to Sanya from Guangzhou and how long does the journey take?  If I fly in to Hainan, which airport should I pick - Haikou or Sanya?  Please advise.

which city u like better.if u just want to visit some natural places, go to sanya, for the histury or culture u should better to go to haikou city. haikou is the capital of hainan

Fellow Canadian who has been there beforeIt is only logical to fly from Guangzhou to Meilan airport in  Haikou (the provincial capital).  If I like a slow train ride,  you can take a train from Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou all the way to Sanya. The airport in Sanya is pretty small.The train will be folded up into 4 or 5 sections and take a ferry ride across the channel to Haikou. Quite an experience if you ask me.
