About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

I am an Australian citizen currently living and working in China since 2006. I married a Chinese national in 2010 and I want to leave my job but stay here with my wife running our own business which we have had together while I have been working for the past 3 years. Is this possible?

Thank you for the response. My wife runs the business and my name is not on it. I don't speak Chinese enough so I just help out with the manual labor. Does that change things?

Mr.Borg, it is complex for your situation, you and your wife can go to the local Division of Exit & Entry of Public Security Bureau to enquire it, your wife can speak Chinese and have a good talk with them.

It is possible for you to leave your job and stay in China with your wife to run your own business, but you need to apply for a work visa, the one year residence permit for family visit doesn't permit you to run business in China.
