I've been to the chinese embassay i manila twice, most recently was dec.04,2010, i got L visa for 90 days and after each 30 day period i have to extend at the PSB(public security bureau). Is there anyway to get an  L visa that can last longer than 90 days in total?

You can try to apply for a multi-entry L visa if you want to stay in China longer.

Thanks Mr.alvin but doesn't multi-entry mean you have to leave china after 90 days and re-enter? My point is why pay 5100pesos when you can pay 1700pesos? or will a multi entry visa allow me to stay in china after the 1st 90 days? i'm confused. any advice will be helpful, thanks.

generally, the duration of L visa is 30 days, and it can be extended twice in China. Mr.Alvin is right, you can apply for a multi-enties visa if you want to stay in China for longer time. Don't worry for exit, I know some holders just go through the control and return without leaving China actually to activate another entry.
