About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

I have current working visa at mainland china due to expire on february 23,2011.I intend to go to hongkong or macau to exit and apply for a tourist visa for mainland china.Can i possibly be granted a tourist visa?any answer or opinion is appreciated.

go back to home country to be sure and apply there
