About:China Train

I need a train on February 28, 2011 going from Shanghai to Zhuji. I have to leave after 12 noon and I want a 2 hour fast train. What station should I go to? What train should I take? Also Will I have any trouble buying a ticket that day? I need 2 tickets.

In that case, you could take the D-train departing from Hongqiao Station to Zhuji, trains like D5681, D105 and etc., with departure time after 12:00am. Since train tickets are always under great demand, you would better buy the tickets in advance. And the Hongqiao train station is located close to the terminal 2 of Hongqiao Airport.

When I went to the Trains from Shanghai Hongqiao to Zhuji the train most suited for me, D5681 said, Not Available. Does that mean the train is not running or does that mean there are no more tickets?

Where did you get the results that D5681 is not available? If the staff at the train station said that, it means there are no more tickets available on the train on your departure date. And train tickets are usually released to public for sale about 10 days before departure. To ensure getting the tickets, it is better for you to arrange booking at earliest times.

Thank you for your speedy replies. Just to clarify, is it easy to stop off the train at stations between Lanzhou and Urumqi and get back on a day or two later? Is there a timetable?
Thanks,
Tess
