i am a nepali citizeni reached to tokyo,japan to visit my fatheri travelled

Question

I am a nepali citizen and i reached to tokyo,japan to visit my father and i travelled through china southern airlines. Its a round trip. Now i want to return back to my home country, Nepal.I got transit of 23:45 hours at guanghou airport.I heard that i should have a china visa to stay inside airport boundary. Is it a fact. Or i should have a stay permit or anything else. Plz suggest me.

no visa is required if your transit in Guangzhou is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.
