About:China Visa Application in USA

I am going to China to get married in a few months. I also want to live there with her as well. So, I have a few questions for you.

Is the type of Visa I need the 2 year multiple entry (Tourist Visa)?

Since I want to stay in China after we get married, how soon can I apply for a perm. resident, also can I apply for this when I apply for my Visa?

I read that you can also only bring $5,000.00 in cash. Can I also bring something like a cashiers check in $15,000.00, so that I can get me a place to live and a good bank?

Thank you for the help.

You can apply for a single entry tourist visa this time. After you get married, you can apply for a one year multiple tourist visa at the local PSB where your wife reside. Permanent residence (D) visa is hard to get now, you can use mentioned visa in China, and it can be extended if you need to stay longer time there. You can only bring 5,000 US dollars. If you have more than this amount, related documents will be needed and you need to declare to the customs.
