It is possible for you to get a new tourist visa in Tokyo, China visa can't be renewed. You can also go to the Exit & Enter Department under Shanghai Public Security Bureau to try to extend your multiple entry visa, in fact, you will be issued a new visa with another days stay in Shanghai.

The information of Exit & Enter Department under Shanghai Public Security Bureau:
Address: 1500 Mingsheng Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai
Office Hours: 09:00-17:00, Mon.-Sat.
Tel: 28951900
