Before the Sui Dynasty, China was in disintegration. There are many kingdoms and subrogation of rights from one dynasty to another in North and South China. North Zhou is the last dynasties in North China, which was established by a ethnic minority called Xianbei. The first emperor of Sui was a general from nobal family. He disthrone the last empeor of North Zhou and got the throne. Thereafter, China was united again.
