About:China Customs Declaration

I am traveling to Shanghai to visit my son and would like to take some Kosher meat with me. Will they allow me to bring this in?

As I explained I am going to Shanghai and want to bring some KOSHER meat to my son, I was told that meat is not allowed. Two more questions, would it help is I had a letter from my religious leader and does it make a difference if the meat is cooked?
