Once you arrive in Huairou, ask to get out at BeiDaJie.From Bei Da Jie you have 2 options:1) Take a taxi to Mutianyu. Ask the driver to take you to Xiaoyuan (better to say Xiaoyuar with an r). A one-way trip with a private taxi should cost no more than RMB 60.2) Cross the street and take bus 916 to DongTai which goes to the Mutianyu Roundabout . From there you will walk north up a hill to get to Mutianyu Great Wall. The Schoolhouse is on your right after approximately 2 kilometers.

Ms, Gela, it seems you have know about the transporation to Mutianyu very well. Yes, you are right. From Huairou Beidajie, you can take 916 branch line from Yujiayuan to Dongtai. Get off at Lianhuachi Station and walk about 2km to Mutianyu. Which one is better, it depends on the cost of money and time. If you are not travel alone, a taxi price for you and your friends or family is resonable.
