About:Dual Nationality

Hi,

I have been working in chinese Semi Govt company for the last five years. Currently I do have the residence permit in Shanghai, which annually or bi annually I renew.
As known, chinese govet doesnt allow dual citizenship. So I am ready to leave my Pakistan's Nationality and wants to be chinese citizen.

Please let me know, can I ?
What would be the procedure.

Holding a China residence permit doesn't mean that your are Chinese. You may contact Shanghai Foreign affairs office to enquire about this.
