About:Chinese Embassy in India

Ni Hao,

If i were to relocate to Beijing, China on a permamanent basis for employment what would be the procedure. Do i need to apply for a residential permit or will a business visa be good. The tenure of travel is above 2 years.

You can apply for a work visa, and change it into a residence permit within 30 days after entry. This permit works as a multiple entry visa but not a permanent residency. The duration of it depends on your employment contract.
