About:China Embassy in Thailand

Hello there,
I am a Canadian citizen currently on holiday in Thailand. I will be visiting HK for a week in mid-feb (BKK-HKG-BKK) and then to Haikou (BKK-HAK-BKK) transiting in Guangzhou (CAN) (2hr layover) for a week at the end of Feb.
Do i need a tourist visa to go to haikou?
If Yes, is it better to get the tourist visa in BKK or can i get it while im in HK?
Thank you for any info!

You are exempted from applying for a visa if you join an international tourist group organized by any of the registered travel agencies in Hainan Province which is approved by China National Tourism Administration. And Hainan visa is easy to get, even upon arrival. but if you need and both for safety, you can apply for it in Hong Kong.
