Is October really the best time to go to Meixian?  How about December/January?I am looking at visiting The Great Wall of China-Beijing/Shanghai/and may be Hong Kong.Could you please advise the best route to the above destinations departing from Melbourne, Australia?Thank you.

I think it is ok for you come to China in Oct, mild weather and nice attractions. Dec/Jan will be cold to visit Shanghai and Beijing.From Melbourne, you should take a flight to Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong firstly and turn to others as will. Suggested that you arrange the visit to Meixian and Hong Kong together:)
