About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am an Indian staying in Japan. I want to travel to Hong Kong. But I need to change in Shanghai. Will I need a visa to stop at Shanghai?

no visa is required if you do not leave the airport. and the transit should be less than 24 hours.
