About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

I am permanent resident of Canada holding srilankan passport, I am planning to fly cathey pacific. {flight going throug hongkong transit 10 hrs} from Vancouver to Colombo.

Is it necessary to get visa to Hongkong.? pls reply me
