I need to get from Hong Kong to the Guangdong Province for a business meeting. What is the easiest & most convenient way to travel and what is the journey time?

direct bus is easiest and most convenient way.
there many place have direct bus to different city of Guangdong province

you can take the direct bus at hongkong to any city in Guangdong province

Frankly speaking, you would never want to take the direct bus from/to HK if you could take the train.

Therefore, first ask people at your destination city (what is it by the way) how far a drive it is to the train station. While the buses are fine (quality) it takes a long time and is less comfortable.
