I just traveeled to Nigeria with my now husband to have a proper wedding. To obtain my visa i had to have a bank statement of MY bank account, a letter from my company here in china to say i work for them, an invitation letter from the person i was staying with in Nigeria, a copy of their passport and/or national ID card, a bank statement from the person in Nigeria i was staying with and then i had to answer some personal qestions that some of were quite offensive,eg. do my parents know i am marrying a black man?(I am a 40 year old woman)Also beware, although your girlfriend may be approved here for lets say a 60 day visa..immigration at the airport in Nigeria will only give her maybe 30 days then you have to pay more money(if you get my meaning) for your girlfriend to extend it. What should have been the perfect holiday for me and my husband was the worst time of my life. Even the wedding did not cheer us up, so please beware that even though you are Nigerian does not mean you and especially your wife, will be treated with respect, either from your embassy here or in your country. I am sorry to say thuis but it wouldbe much better if you marry here then apply for your wife to get a married visa then go home and get married again there.
