What were three types of jobs you could apply for in Ming Dynasty if you were a foreigner?

Many missionaries came to China during the Ming Dynasty. Matteo Ricci is the first successful missionary in China. The empror conferred an office title to him because of his profound knowledge on geography, astronomy. This is a reference. On the other hand, I think the jobs should be confeered by Ming rulers, but can not make it by applying in person.
