About:China Postal Service

Hello,
I am hoping someone can advise me.I purchased an item from China on Dec 18,2010. The item was shipped from there on Dec 25,2010 and I was given a tracking number(ee523406731cn). I have been checking both the EMS and Canada Post website since Dec 25 and to date (it is now Jan 23,2011) , there is NO change in the info at all. I have contacted the seller and was told that due to the big snow in my country, that"our" post office here in Canada is behind in processing parcels ( the seller states this is what their shipping company is saying)and to wait awhile longer. I live in Alberta and if I am correct, the item should have entered at Vancouver as that is where all my previous parcels from China have entered the country at. If this is correct, there is no big snow that affected mail on this side of the country(yes- in the east but not in BC& AB). Also I have received a large number of other parcels in the same timeframe that were from overseas so I am finding this excuse abit difficult to believe at this time. As well if the item is actually in Canada , the screen must state at some point that it is in Canadian customs-it can not be delivered without going through this process at customs. Can someone advise if I should be concerned?( as I mentioned I do have a tracking number and from what I can see,I do have to sign if the parcel shows up so the seller would know that I have to be telling the truth abt it being delivered or not)
Thanks
K

It seems complicated. I think you can contact the sender again to enquire about your parcel, and you may also contact the China post dierctly through their hotline 11185.

Hello Mr Derek,
Thank you for the response-I appreciate it.
Since posting my question, I have been checking the Canada Postal service website and noted that on Jan 24 the item in question has now finally arrived in Canada so hopefully it will be here shortly
(that was my major concern in that the tracking info only ever showed it leaving China and enroute but it never indicated at anytime that it had entered the country which told me that it was somewhere between China & Canada and most unusual to take a month to travel.)
Again though thank you for your reply
K
