IS it still possible to visit the Chengdu Panda Preserve and pay extra to actually HOLD a panda in your lap? A year ago on the Travel channel, I saw Samantha Brown holding a panda during her visit. She said she paid extra money to do this and it was available to other visitors also.

Yes, you can hold the pandas at Chengdu Panda Reserve, but you need to pay for it and the charge is very high.
