About:Badaling Great Wall

I am hoping to go on a cruise from Singapore in October/November arriving Beijing on 11 November and flying out on 13 November. Would I have ample time to visit the Great Wall, an Tiananmen Square in that short period. What sort of distances are we talking about.

Do you mean you will stay in Beijing for only one day on Nov. 12? I think it is enough to visit Tiananmen Square and Badaling Great Wall.

We did the cruise from Beijing to Bangkok in Sept/Oct 2007. The best cruise we have ever been on. You will dock in Xiangang which is a considerable distance from Beijing (it took us 5 hours by coach). Presumably you are staying in central Beijing so Tiananmen Square will not be a problem (the forbidden city is also close by). We took advantage of the cruise lines tour which took us to the Summer Palace and then the Great Wall at Badaling. This was an all day trip. If I remember it took a couple of hours to get there from central Beijing. I would suggest a trip to the Great Wall in the morning because you can always go to Tiananmen Square in the evening. Enjoy your cruise, we did.
