Hi I am currently here on a F visa, I am doing a internship, just over 6 months, I initially received a 3month F visa and renewed in in November, but this current one runs out on Feb 9th, I was hoping to extend it Jan 31st or Feb 1st, do you think I will have problems with spring time festival, also is it possible to request a single entry, my current visa has no entrys.

You won't have problems if the Exit & Enter Department accepts your visa extension application and give you a Receipt, you can legally remain in China without a visa while they are processing your new visa. Please have a photocopy of your passport in case the police ask for it or if you need to get hotel accommodation. In fact, you can apply for China visa on Feb 9, 2011, the last expiry date of your visa, the Exit & Enter Department reseums to work on Feb 9.
