About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

I am a graduate student currently on scholarship here in China for 4 years. This is my 3rd year. However, this year i have no classes, only my research paper so i would like to apply for a job teaching English. My concern is, can i get a work permit even though i already have a student residency permit valid for another year? Thank you for your help.

Ms.Blake, I think, you can take part-time job in English teaching in China on your current residence permit. Work permit can only be issued to applicants who work full time, and you need to find a school beforehand, they will handle the work permit for you. And then, you can apply for a work visa with this permit.
