You can't apply for China Business Visa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/business.htm) if you don't have the invitation letter from a Chinese company.
From January 1st, 2011, all applications for Business (F) to China should be supported by the "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" instead of the "Visa Notification Form". The "Visa Notification Form" will be void by December 31st, 2010.
If there is a Chinese firm cooperating with you, the company should go to Foreign affairs office or Bureau of Foreign Trade and economic Cooperation to apply for the "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" for you.
You can only apply for a Tourist Visa to China(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/tourist.htm) for buy umbrellas, cups and baby's clothes, but please don't delcare that you go to China for business on the visa application, otherwise, your application will be denied.
