About:Chinese Embassy in France

I have a French passport but do not have time to get a Chines Visa but need to visit Shenzhen. If I do not need a visa for Hong Kong, can I enter HK and then travel onward to Shenzhen without a visa? Or, can I get a Chinese visa upon arrival in China? Thanks.

It's true that you don't need a visa for Hong Kong(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hongkong/) but you can't travel to Shenzhen from Hong Kong without a visa, since May 1, 2010, French citizens are not allowed to apply for China visa on arrival. The alternative is to apply for China visa in Hong Kong, it is not hard for French nationals to get a China visa in Hong Kong.
