About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hi,

My Fiance has got a job in China from March 2011, we have our wedding in February 2011.

Should I apply for dependent visa or come with tourist visa and change it over in China for dependent visa ?

Also can I work with dependent visa in China or do I need to get a different visa.

You should apply for dependent visa if you husband apply for work visa, it is hard to change your tourist visa to dependent visa within Mainland China. You can't work with dependent visa in China.

After you get the marriage license, it should be certified by the Secretary of the State Office of the state where the document is executed and China embassy/consulate (English version and Chinese version). Then the marriage license can be used in China.

i think you Fiance should get a work visa. so you can apply for a dependent visa at the same time, mybe better do it before come to China.
dependent visa usually have no right to work in china.
