About:China Train

We are coming to Shanghai on January 28 until February 4 (2011)as tourists. We plan to catch a train from Shanghai to Hangzhou on January 31 and return to Shanghai on February 3, and we have booked all our hotels in Shanghai and Hangzhou for our whole stay in China (one week). Will we have trouble getting trains on the specified days? I understand February 3 is New Years Day - is this a public holiday in China?

Feb.3, 2011 is the Lunar New Year's Day, which is also called Spring Festival. It is a very important holiday for Chinese. Thus, the tickets are under very great demand and stations are fairly crowded due to the great flow of passengers during the Spring Festival Holiday. You are suggested to arrange the tickets in advance.
