Hi, your departure date is just during the travel peak of Spring Festival Holiday, so the stations should be very crowded. And due to the great flow of passengers during the holiday, tickets are under very large demand. Thus, you would better arrange the tickets well in advance, such as booking online or purchasing through some ticket offices. Besides, soft sleeper cabin is only equipped four beds but there are six berths in hard sleeper cabin. So, the soft sleeper is more comfortable than hard sleeper. For more details of the difference, you could refer to China Train Tickets Types(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/tickets.htm) .
