About:China Transit Visa

Hello, I am a Dutch citizen and I will fly from Amsterdam to Melbourne, Australia. In Beijing I have a short landing (refuelling) and fly then to Guangzhou (arrival 19.45). From there I have a connected flight to Melbourne (departure 23.50). From previous posts I understand I won't need a transit visa, because I won't leave the airport within 24 hours. But now someone said to me that you have to arrive an leave on the same date for not having a transit visa. If my plane is delayed by more then 10 minutes, he says I will have a problem. Is this true and should I apply for a transit visa for just in case, because more than 10 minutes delay can happen very easily?

Looking forward to your answer,
Karsten

To sure everything is Ok, you'd better apply for a transit visa.
