About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Hi! I'm planning study in Beijing this coming September and work there afterwards. Do I need to avail a permit in order to work there? Thanks!)

Yes, but you need to apply for a student visa (study in China for more than 6 months), or a business visa (less than 6 months) to China first. After entry with your visa, you need to change it into a residence permit within 30 days at local PSB.

Yes, if you want to work in China afterwards, you need to leave and apply for a work visa from Chinese embassy in Philippines.
