About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Hello,
I dont really understand so I will use my own case to ask... I am given an F visa single entry visa valid for 180 days which is 6 months.. Does it mean that I have to enter China within the 3months given. And upon entry to China, I can stay there for 180 days starting from my first date of entry into the country..
Lastly, is it possible to get a permit from the local authorities to allow me entry to mainland China again after a visit to HongKong or Macau if I have a single entry visa?
Thank you

Please tell what is wrriten on your single entry F visa? Enter Before, Issue Date, Duration of Each Stay *** Days After Entry

Now I don't know whether the 180 days is the stay duration you are permitted to stay or not.

It is impossible for you to get a permit from the local authorities to allow you re-enter Mainland China after a visit Hong Kong or Macau. It is single entry visa, which only permits to enter Mainland China once. If you want to visit Hong Kong or Macau, you have to apply for a new China visa in Hong Kong/macau to return to Mainland China.
