Hello, I'm going to work in HK from the first may 2010. My wife will come with me, which kind of visa do we need for her to stay there as long as possible? Where and how could we get this visa? Which informations do you need? In my case i ll receive a visa with my company. You have to know that i m from Belgium, but citizen in the Netherlands, and my wife is from Brasil but citizen in the Netherlands. Thanks in advance for your answer!Kind regards, Julien

Your wife can apply for Hong Kong Dependant Visa attached to your Hong Kong work visa through China embassy/consulate in the country where she resides. She can also mail the application directly to Hong Kong Immigration Department. It takes 4 weeks for the processing. You are the sponsor of your wife, once you get the Hong Kong work visa, you can get the HK ID after entry, you can submit the application to the immigration department directly as her sponsor. You need to provide the below 2 documents for her application: One copy of the sponsor's HK ID and the sponsor's telephone number; Proofs of relationship between applicant and sponsor, such as marriage license, are required for her application.

As Mr.Johnnash said above, you can get your HK ID after entry, and at that time, you can be the sponsor of your wife to apply for a visa accompanying your work visa.
