About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am an american citizen flying on southern china airlines and will stop over in Guangzhou China for a couple hours for a flight from Los Angeles to Manila, Philippines, do i need a visa

You don't need a China Transit Visa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/transit.htm) if you won't leave Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/airport.htm) during less than 24 hours stopover
