About:China Transit Visa

Hi, I'm an American citizen in South Korea. I have a flight back to the States from Beijing and so, am planning on taking a flight from Korea to Beijing earlier that day. If I fly from Korea to Beijing on one airline and then from Beijing to the States on another, do I need a transit visa? I will not be leaving the airport but I will have to check in again for my flight to the States.

Thank you!

You don't need a transit visa because you won't leave Beijing Airport(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/beijing/capital-airport.htm) during the stopover and the transit is less than 24 hours.
