About:Marco Polo Memorial Museum

My family (2 adults/ 2 kids) will be going to Beijing on April 2011 and I'm wondering if I can apply for a China Visa in advance(anytime from Jan-March 2011)or does it have to be near the departure date because there might be an expiration. Does the consulate in Cebu, Philippines issue visa? What area in Beijing is the most convenient place to stay? Thank you very much!

China visa is valid for 3 months since the issue date. If you will visit China in April, then, you'd better apply for a visa in late January or early March or anytime in Feb. You must come to the Embassy or Consulate-General in the consular jurisdiction where you reside to submit the application. And of course the consulate in Cebu issues visas. Wangfujing is a better option which is at the city center and near to the forbidden city and Tian'anmen Square. It is a famous shopping center with comvenient transportation. Thank you very much, Mr. Alvin, for the valuable information. We don't have a Chinese embassy here in Davao so I guess Cebu is a better option. Can u recommend good but not so expensive (about 80 USD) hotels with good accessibility around Wangfujing area which is ideal for families? Thank you very much.

We will be arriving in Beijing Terminal 2 on April 4 at 0035 am. Is it possible to stay at the airport until around 8 am so that we can save 1 day on our hotel expenses? I'm planning to book my arrival on April 4 and that means we can check in at 12nn-2pm unless they would allow us to check in earlier than usual. Is there a comfortable place to stay at the airport? Thanks.

Yes, you can go to Cebu to apply for China Tourist Visa because Davao is under the consular districts of China Consulate in Cebu. You have to book a hotel in Beijing in advance because the Hotel Reservation is required for China visa application.

I advise you to find a hotel in Beijing Capital International Airport to stay from 00:35am to 08:00 am, then take the airport express or shuttle bus to Wangfujing, Please leave your baggage at the left-baggage counter of Beijing Novotel Peace Hotel, then go out to visit Beijing, return to the hotel to check in at 12:00 noon. You don't need to pay for the left-baggage counter. The hotel expenses are counted from your check-in.
