could you please tell me, where are the recommended places for new year festival ^_^? doesnt have to be directly in guangzhou, may be near by or something. thank you so much.

Oh, I think either Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hongkong/) or Macau(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/macau/) is nice place for new year festival. All of these cities have their own features, you can choose one you are interested in most.
